PURPOSE:To easily correct the nonlinear distortion of a picture so that a highly accurate picture can be obtained, by installing a means which corrects the position of each picture element of a picture memory storing an original picture in accordance with the nonlinear distortion of the picture, and an output picture memory which stores a geometric distortion corrected picture obtained as a result of the correction. CONSTITUTION:Correcting operation is controlled by the timing controlling section 30 of a distortion correcting device and the correction starting positions of X and Y are set in registers 31 and 32 and correction terminating positions are set in registers 33 and 34. Moreover, picture addresses of X and Y are calculated at address calculating sections 35 and 36 and terminations of X and Y are checked by comparators 37 and 38. Positions of each picture element from the calculating sections 35 and 36 are stored in an inputted picture memory 39 and, at the same time, supplied to a correction calculating section 40. At the calculating section 40 the nonlinear distortion of each picture element position stored in the memory 39 is corrected. Each picture element position corrected at the calculating section 40 is stored in an outputting picture memory 43. Thus the nonlinear distortion of an original picture is corrected with a simple constitution. |
