PURPOSE:To improve a sealing ability through prevention of the occurrence of turning up and floating of the lower end part of a weather strip, by a method wherein the mounting base of the weather strip is securely adhered to the mounting flange of a retainer. CONSTITUTION:An engaging groove 8 is formed in a mounting base 7 of a weather strip W, and a groove 16, serving as an adhesive reservoir, is provided in an outer peripheral wall 15 of the groove part 8. With the aid of the adhesive coated on the interior of the groove 16, the external peripheral wall 15 of the groove part is securely adhered to an outer side 14 of a retainer 5. Further, a lower end part 13 of the outer peripheral wall 15 of the groove part is extended slightly inwardly and is brought into contact with a rise base 17 of a mounting flange 6 to close the lower edge of the groove 16.
