PURPOSE:To let an operator know information on a program being reproduced at present by compositing a video disk device of a disk on which information on a program is recorded at the starting part of the program and a player equipped with a means which stores the information while the program continues. CONSTITUTION:When a playback function key 27 is pressed, a controller 25 clears an area of its incorporated RAM where a chapter signal is stored. Then, the playback mode of a disk is entered, but the controller 25 sends a control signal to a main motor servo device 23 and a slide motor servo device 15 at this time to move a stylus 12 to the lead-in section 1 on the disk 11 and a stylus driving device 13 moves down the stylus 12. Its lead-in signal is read by a data detector 24 and the stylus 12 is fed speedily to the starting position of a program section 2. Then, the player starts reproduction, but a chapter signal is read every time the stylus 12 reaches one of chapter signal rescording area 5-5 provided at sarting parts of respective recorded programs 4-4, detecting the starting position of each program 4. |
