PURPOSE:To obtain a good stable endoscope image by using a solid state image pickup device having an arrangement of image pickup cells including an electrostatic induction transistor as an image pickup device of the head. CONSTITUTION:The picture element of a solid state image pickup device of an endoscope consisting of a non-division type electrostatic induction transistor (SIT) is made of an epitaxial layer 12 on an n<+> Si base plate, an n<+> domain (drain) 14, a p<+> domain (gate) 20, an SiO2 film 24 on it, a drain electrode 36, an insulating layer 6, a gate electrode 7 and an electrode layer 52. The gate electrode 7 is connected to a reading address circuit 1 and gate pulse phiG for reading is supplied. The drain electrode 36 is connected to a video voltage source 5 through a switching transistor 3. A selector circuit 2 that supplies video selection pulse phiS is connected to the gate of the transistor 3. By arranging such picture elements either one-dimensionally or two-dimensionally, a good stable endoscope image is obtained. |
