BROAD BAND ULTRASONIC RADIATOR

PURPOSE:To obtain uniform sound pressure distribution in a tank completely free from fluctuation in the depthwise direction of a liquid with a broad band of spectrum distribution made possible by arranging a plurality of magnetostrictive vibrators varied in the natural resonance frequency on the bottom of a tank jointly to be connected to a sweep type ultrasonic oscillator for sweeping within the maximum and minimum range of frequency. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of groups of nickel magnetostrictive vibrators 1'-1-1'-5 are fixed on the bottoms of a tank 2 and connected to a sweep type ultrasonic oscillator 4 through a lead 3. Numeral 5 indicates contents made up of a liquid or a mixture of a liquid and a solid the same as conventional art and the magnetostrictive vibrators 1'-1- 1'-5 have varied resonance frequencies. The connections between the magnetostrictive vibrators 1' and the tank 2 are each preferably 0.1tX50 [(t) is thickness of tank] and the magnetostrictive vibrators 1' with many resonance frequencies are arranged jointly close to each other thickness-wise. The sweep type ultrasonic oscillator 4 automatically performs a sweeping in a sweeping frequency range of 15-45kHz. Thus, the sweeping cycle can be controlled and a vibration is applied to a radiant plate (bottom plate) almost regardless of the frequency corresponding to the sweeping frequency thereby allowing simultaneous radiation of sound into the contents 5.
