PURPOSE:To prolong the life of bearings by sending by pressure the cooling water into an upper radial bearing of the motor chamber upper part using an aux. impeller through a downward heading cooling water passage provided at this impeller and a heat exchanger, and by imparting the static pressure bearing fuction to this radial bearing. CONSTITUTION:When main impeller 1 is put in operation, an aux. impeller and thrust disc 7 installed at the bottom of a pump shaft 3b also rotates, so that the cooling flows through a cooling water passage 7a provided in this aux. impeller 7 in the downward direction, and upon being boosted flows into the bottom part 10b of the motor chamber. This boosted cooling water is by pressure sent to the static pressure chamber 16 of radial bearing 9a through a piping 11b, heat exchanger 12, piping 11a, cooling water passage 13 of outer motor casing 6b, and cooling water passage 15 of bearing bracket 6a1. Thereby the static pressure bearing function is imparted to the upper radial bearing 9a, so that wear is reduced and the life prolonged. |
