PURPOSE:To extract and recover valuable low-molecular substance in the cytoplasm of yeast cell selectively from the cell, by contacting the yeast cell with an aqueous solution of cupric ion. CONSTITUTION:Yeast cell containing valuable substance such as amino acid, vitamin, nucleic acid, etc. in the cell is made to contact with an aqueous solution containing >=muM, preferably 10-500muM of cupric ion in the suspension to extract the low-molecular compound having number-average molecular weight of <=1,000, especially <=500 and existing in the cytoplasm from the cell, and the objective valuable substance is recovered from the extract. |
