The invention relates to techniques of milling and drying materials in a gas stream. The installation, which is the subject of the invention, is characterised in that the final drying chamber 4 contains a complementary rotary mill 11 whose rotational axis does not coincide with the rotational axis of the main rotary mill 7, and in that above the complementary rotary mill 11 is mounted a deflector 13 of incompletely milled material, this deflector forming with the wall of the final drying chamber 4 a bypass path 14 at the outlet of which is mounted a throttle butterfly valve 15, the pre-drying chamber 3 being in communication with the said final drying chamber 4 by the intermediary of a window 5 made in the separation partition 2, opposite the complementary rotary mill 11.
