A door operating motor is controlled by relay circuits so that following an initiating action the door automatically opens, remains open for a predetermined time, and then closes. Timing is controlled by a relay B (Fig. 2, not shown) which closes following the closure of initiating switch MC and is held on by the discharge of a capacitor C1, regulated by a rheostat R1. The initiating switch may be foot or light beam actuated, and the motor is a single phase, capacitor run, induction motor, reversed by reversal of the phase winding. It, is mounted with a gear train incorporating an electromagnetic clutch and brake which are energized via relays and cam-operated switches. The door may be held open indefinitely by a manual switch S. |
