A vapourising chamber has a heat source (2) and in it is a liquid zone (3), a vapour zone (4) and a condensation zone (5). The latter is formed by a pipe, in the annulus (6) of which is another pipe (7), whose bore is joined to the condensation zone. This connection leads vapour to the annulus and recycles condensed liquid into the vapourising chamber. To make the connection, there are two pipes, one for vapour (9) and another for liquid (10). One of the pipes is mounted horizontally along e.g. the railway points to be heated.
