PURPOSE:An inhibitor for metal corrosion for lubricating oil preventing formation of metal sulfides and metal halides even at high temperature, free from formation of precipitate and suspended matters, containing a specific substituted- benzotriazole. CONSTITUTION:The desired inhibitor for metal corrosion containing a substituted phenyl-benzotriazole [e.g., 2-(2'-hydroxy-3',5'-di-t-butylphenyl)-benzotriazole, etc.] shown by the formula (X is H, or Cl; R1 is H, or 1-5C hydrocarbon; R2 is 1-5C hydrocarbon) as an active ingredient. |
