PURPOSE:To keep sufficient light sensitivity even with increased circuit integration by forming a region of a capacitor formed between a gate region and a gate electrode by a photoconductive material so as to provide a sufficient blue light sensitivity. CONSTITUTION:A channel region 13 made of the n<-> layer is formed on an n<+> layer substrate 10 and one set of a p<+> layer gate region 15 is formed on its upper face. A picture element corresponding to one picture element is formed by one set of the gate regions 15 and a source region 17 made of an n<+> layer. A source electrode 22 is formed to an exposed part of the source region 17 and a gate electrode 24 is formed to the exposed part of the gate region 15 via a photoconductive layer 26. When no light is made incident externally by the photoconductive layer 26, a capacitor is formed between the gate region 15 and the gate electrode 24 and electron/positive hole pairs are formed when light is incident.
