PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent picture quality in the special reproduction at both 2-hour and 6-hour modes by providing two magnetic heads for normal recording and reproduction and also two magnetic heads exclusive use for special reproduction. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 1 for normal recording and reproduction and a magnetic head 6 for special reproduction having different azimuth angle from the head 1 are provided to one of head holders (not shown in figure) pressed and fixed onto an outer circumference at both ends of a diameter of a rotary drum 3, and a magnetic head 2 for normal recording and reproduction having different azimuth from the magnetic head 1 and a magnetic head 7 for special reproduction with equal azimuth to the magnetic head 2 are contained in other head holder at a distance. The track width of the magnetic heads 6, 7 for special reproduction is set larger than the track width of the magnetic heads 1, 2 for normal recording and reproduction, and the picture quality at the special reproduction is improved by using selectively the four magnetic heads. |
