PURPOSE:To simplify the production method and reliably fix a control electrode section in a display tube regardless of the edge section shape of the control electrode section by using the control electrode section fitted with an insulating support body having a predetermined thickness at its edge section. CONSTITUTION:An insulating support body 17 serving as a main portion is fitted beforehand to a control electrode section 14. That is, the insulating suppot body 17 made of ceramics or glass, for example, machined to a predetermined thickness is fitted beforehand to the inner edge section of the control electrode section 14 to be supported with an adhesive agent 18 in a display tube envelope. A material not solved in the subsequent seal process, e.g., a paste-like material made of crystallized glass powder, the softening temperature of which is increased after it is once melted and solidified, is used as the adhesive agent 18, and the edge section of a control electrode main body 15 and the insulating support body 17 are coated with it and burnt to stick them. The control electrode section 14 thus obtained is positioned and mounted on a substrate 11. |
