An apparatus for multistage purification of liquids from magnetic and non-magnetic particles, and in particular cutting lubricants for machine tools. The apparatus consists of a magnetic separator, a non-magnetic filtering unit and, optionally, pressure filtering units. The magnetic separator is in the form of a number of rotary magnetic discs 3 placed on an axis common with the axis of the reservoir of the filtration unit. This reservoir is defined by two rotating wheels for the sides, and as a base an unrolling filtering band 5 which is pressed against the perimeter of the rotating wheels by a chain 7. The apparatus can be applied for use with for example grinding machines or boring machines for deep boring.
