PURPOSE:To obtain the titled steel strip having a uniform distribution of C concn. and contg. uniformly distributed carbide of a small grain size by carburizing a blank for a low-C Cr stainless steel strip, and subjecting it to primary diffusion treatment, annealing, cold rolling, secondary diffusion treatment and annealing. CONSTITUTION:A cold rolled Cr stainless steel strip of 0.3-2.0mm. thickness contg. <=0.3% C and 11.0-18.0% Cr or a blank for the strip is carburized so as to adjust the average concn. of C to 0.4-1.4%, and it is subjected to primary diffusion treatment and annealing. By the primary diffusion treatment the concn. of C in the surface layer parts is reduced to improve the suitability to rolling. The internal texture is then made fine by cold rolling, and secondary diffusion treatment is carried out. The desired high C stainless steel strip contg. fine carbide precipitated uniformly from the surface layer parts to the centeral part is obtd. |
