<p>A dual, fixed-chamber, round baler for cut crop material in windrows which has in tandem arrangement, a small or front partial bale-forming chamber (14) with crop material feed intake (13) and a large or rear complete bale-forming and bale ejection chamber (15), both chambers having around the internal perimeter thereof, a plurality of forming rollers (18, 19, 20, 21, 22) of uniform diameter, rotation speed and direction and being alternately joined and divided by vertically tilting, upper and lower chamber-dividing roller units (16, 17), the upper unit has bale-forming rollers (23, 24) of large non-uniform diameter carried on frame members (28a, 29) with independent drive chain (33) and sprockets (32, 34, 35) mounted for eccentric tilting by ram (28); the lower unit has uniform rollers (36, 37, 38, 39), mounted on a common frame (40) lowered by chain (42) connected to upper unit (16), both roller units are lowered in partial chamber division, rear chamber, full bale-forming mode; lowered and raised in complete chamber division, front chamber bale preforming, rear chamber bale tying and ejection mode; and raised and lowered, respectively for complete chamber joining for front to rear passage of bale pre-form mode. </p> |
