<p>The risk of self-igniting or dust-explosion when handling a pulvurent peat fuel having a lower water content than 30% is eliminated by causing the individual peat particles to bind together into relatively weak non-dusting agglomerates by admixing therewith a liquid or powderous substance whose weight constitutes at most 20% of the weight of the dry powder. The substance may comprise a petroleum product or a vegetable oil, or a powdered substance which will melt when heated, such as sugar or paraffin. </p> |
