A toy car race track having easy and difficult track sections is provided with voltage in such a way that the vehicle can always run out of the difficult track section when the mains voltage is switched off and subsequently comes to a standstill on an easy track section. Restarting when the mains voltage is switched on is therefore reliably guaranteed.
