There are described a method and a device, by means of which the corners of spacer frames, filled with an essentially incompressible desiccant and formed from metal hollow-profiled bars 10, for the construction of insulating-glass panes can be bent without breaking. For this purpose, before bending, the hollow-profiled bars 10 are notched to a predetermined depth by means of a notching tool 3 at the location of the subsequent inside of the corners, and are thereby separated in a H-shaped manner, and the tabs (40) obtained are bent inwards. <IMAGE>
