PURPOSE:A beautifying cosmetic having improved beautifying effect free from side effect and skin irritation undesirable to the human body, obtained by blending a base with a mono--diester of a specific dicarboxylic acid having a straight-chain structure as a beautifying agent component. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic obtained by blending a base of cosmetic with usually 0.05-17wt% at least one compound shown by the formula I (R1 and R2 are 1- 8C straight-chain alkyl or alkenyl, R2 is further H; n is 1-13 integer) as a beautifying component based on the total amount of blended components of the cosmetic. The beautifying cosmetic is prepared in an aqueous state (creamy, emulsion, or aqueous transparent liquid state), oily state, or powdery state. The cosmetic has high inhibitory action on tyrosinase, and can exhibit improved beautifying effect. Preferably the pH of the aqueous beautifying cosmetic is 3.5- 7.0 when the beautifying agent component is a monoester alone or in combination with a diester, and 3.5-9.0 when it is the diester. |
