Spherical packings, stamped out from a thin, flat plate, for matter and heat exchange columns have strips running in a meridional fashion, which pass into a ring running along a circle of latitude. In order to achieve a stamped packing substantially conforming to the spherical shape, which still has favourable baffles within its shell, on the basis of the invention, the ring is located in the equator of the packing. The meridional strips proceed from this ring. At the pole, they are then curved inwards, where these bends can have tongues or similar additional deformations, in order to multiply the baffles within the sphere.
