In the case of a shut-off/starter device for engines of motor vehicles with automatic transmission, in which the shut-off and/or the starting is triggered when the brake pedal is operated, the shut-off and/or starting process can be triggered unambiguously and always only intentionally if in addition to the brake pedal a further emitter indicating the desired operation is arbitrarily actuated.
