A sunshade arrangement, the design of which is similar to that of a known awning, is constructed according to the invention in such a way that the winding shaft for the awning cloth is operatively connected to a restoring member, e.g. a torsion spring, and that the awning cloth is held on a supporting linkage via a connecting element which is self-releasing at higher wind loads. The advantage of this is that an inexpensive lightweight construction is possible, since the awning cloth is automatically drawn in again and wound up at higher wind loads by the restoring member.
