In a head support for motor vehicle seats, the head upholstery carrier is connected to the head upholstery carrier rods arranged in the seat backrest by means of an inclination adjustment arrangement. Each inclination adjustment arrangement has a circular cylindrical holding part which is attached to the head upholstery carrier rod and is engaged around by a plastic shell whose essentially parallel attachment legs are tensioned with respect to one another by an attachment element, such as a screw, rivet or the like, which penetrates them. With the present invention, the locking force which is applied by the attachment element and acts on the attachment legs is to be applied to the inclination adjustment arrangement in such a way that this locking force is transferred in an essentially uniform way to the attachment legs of the plastic shell even in the case of relatively large temperature fluctuations. In accordance with the invention, on or adjacent to the outside of each attachment leg a rigid plate-shaped component is provided assigned either to the attachment leg itself and/or to the head upholstery carrier wall bordering it on the outside. This rigid plate-shaped component extends with its lower region at least as far as the free end of the attachment leg and touches or intersects with its upper region a tangent which is aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis of the attachment element and laid on the inner circular contour of the open seam tube-shaped region of the holding shell.
