Edge beam for swimming pools

The invention, best seen in Fig. 1, relates to an edge beam as an overflow for swimming pools, which can lie approximately flush with the surface of the water and forms on its upper side a breakwater plane which is slightly inclined towards the surface of the water and of which the ridge drops into a return channel. To prevent the most frequently occurring small waves from reaching the breakwater plane, the latter is preceded by a collecting groove in the edge beam, which communicates with the return channel and runs close to the pool-side edge of the edge beam. As a result, even when the swimming pool is in use the aesthetically pleasing impression of a smooth, regular boundary approximately level with the surface of the water is maintained. <IMAGE>
