PURPOSE:To increase operation efficiency at the time of winding a tape by a construction wherein the insulating tape is composed of an insulating base layer with high compressibility and a backing material having heat-contractibility. CONSTITUTION:An insulating tape 4 composed of an insulating base layer 2 with high compressibility and a backing material 3 having heat-contractibility is wound round a conductor 1 with such a feed pitch that the tape overlaps at least more than 1/2 of the tape width, thereby to form an insulating layer 5. After heat-drying process, the insulating layer 5 is impregnated with insulating varnish and hardened. The proper value of compressibility of the insulating base layer 2 is 10-40%, which is obtained by, for example, mixing aromatic polyamide hybrid of 5-50wt% to lumped mica of 95-50wt%. The backing material 3 may be formed of woven cloth, non-woven cloth or film using materials such as glass fiber, aromatic polyester or polyamide. |
