PURPOSE:To collate with a high accuracy a print of seal to be collated of a check, etc. by registering and recording in advance a binary-coded picture pattern of a reference print of seal of plural areas, and collating it with a read picture data. CONSTITUTION:A code number read by a reader 8 and a picture data read by a camera device 9 are sent through a data bus 12 to an external memory 10 and a picture processing device 11, respectively. A binary-coded picture pattern of a reference print of seal of plural areas is registered and recorded in advance in this memory 10, and at the time of collation, basing on a code number read by the device 8, a picture pattern of the corresponding reference print of seal is fetched and sent to the device 11. The device 11 reads out a data stored in a picture memory 14, decodes and executes a program of a program memory 13, contains a CPU15 for controlling various operations related to collation of the print of seal and a series of processings, discriminates a check to true, false and unknown and distributes it by a distributing device 4 through an output apparatus 16 basing on a result of discrimination as to whether the print of seal is true or false. |
