In a jaw crusher, a pusher plate 3 is located between a stationary counterstop (4) (Fig. 1, not shown) on the frame and the pendulum (1) providing the crushing motion, and acting in the direction of movement of the crushing motion and, at the same time, serving as overload protection. Correct dimensioning of the pusher plates in existing jaw crushers is exceedingly difficult, with the consequence that pusher plates fail too often. With the aid of the present invention, the above- mentioned and other problems encountered in connection with pusher plates of prior art have been solved in that the pusher plate 3 consists of at least two flank plates 7 which are urged together by one or more members eg breaker bolts 5 placed under tensile load and bound to fail at a given load, and that at the point where the members are located the distance, in the cross section, between the outer margins of the flank plates 7 is largest. <IMAGE> |
