PURPOSE:To inform a driver of the advancing direction of a vechile during the turning thereof as visual information by detecting the speed (v) in the advancing direction thereof and the speed V in the transverse direction thereof during the turning thereof to calculate a skid angle beta thereof by beta=v/V. CONSTITUTION:The angle beta of the arrow D as indicating the ongoing direction during the turning of a vehicle to the widthwise center line C thereof refers to the skid angle of a vehicle. When the speed in the transverse direction of a vehicle is expressed by (v) with respect to the speed thereof during the turning thereof, namely, the speed V in the advancing direction, the skid angle beta of the vehicle almost meets beta=v/V. So, both the variables (v) and V are detected with a vehicle speed sensor and a transverse speed sensor to compute beta=v/V with a computer and according to a value outputted, a ongoing direction indicator is controlled. In this manner, a driver can be informed of the advancing direction of the vehicle during the turning of a vehicle as visual information. |
