<p>A magnetic recording medium is disclosed. The medium is comprised of a support base having provided thereon a non-magnetic metal layer and a magnetic layer. The magnetic layer is comprised of plate-shaped magnetic particles having an axis of easy magnetization perpendicular to the plane of the plate-shaped magnetic particles dispersed in a binder. The non-magnetic metal layer is preferably comprised of a metal selected from the group consisting of Al, Cu, Zn, Sn, Ti and alloys thereof. The recording medium has high S/N ratio, reduced drop out, high output, excellent durability and running properties.</p> |
