<p>PURPOSE:To restrain an overcooling of the corner parts of a slab and to maintain a uniform distribution of its temperature by bringing an endless chainshaped connected body of heat retaining boards into contact with the corner part of a slab or sheet bar while transporting it on a table roll, and moving it at constant speed. CONSTITUTION:A heat retaining board 2 having an L-shaped cross section lined with a heat insulating material 4 is brought into close contact with a corner part, a part of an upper side, and most part of a short side of a slab or sheet bar 1 mounted on a table roll 3, to restrain an overcooling of the corner part and its periphery. The subdivided heat retaining boards 2 are mutually connected in an endless chain-shape and are rotated as an endless track in the 9 direction, and are composed to the movable in the transferring direction 8 of a rolling material thereby both side-corners of the sheet bar 1 are covered respectively by the boards 2. Further, the driving shafts 6 of sprocket wheels are made movable vertically in the direction of the slab width so as to correspond to the dimensions of the slab 1. Thus the corner parts of the slab are heat insulated while transporting it, and the temperature distribution of the slab 1 is maintained uniformly.</p> |
