PURPOSE:To obtain simultaneously a lot of informations by generating an ultrasonic wave of an ultrasonic wave image pickup system in a horizontal blanking period of a horizontal scanning signal in an optical image pickup system. CONSTITUTION:A CCU is constituted of an optical image pickup system X and an ultrasonic wave image pickup system Y, and a part in a frame Z is incorporated in a tip part vessel 1. A video clock generator 12 supplies a horizontal synchronizing signal and a vertical synchronizing signal to both systems X, Y. As for the optical image pickup system X, an image pickup element driver X1 receives the horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals from the video clock generator 12, and executes horizontal and vertical scanning of a fixed image pickup element 7. A process circuit X2 converts a signal of several hundred 100mV order coming in through a lead-in part from a pre-amplifier 8, to a video signal. Also, X3 constituted of an NTSC encoder converts the video signal from the process circuit X2 to a monitorable signal by a CRT13. |
