PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a device which conveys a material by a moving element by holding a material by a rod ejected from a cylinder fixed to the moving element and providing a detector for the retraction of said rod so that the conveyance is stopped upon detecting the generation of a fault from the retraction of said rod. CONSTITUTION:A holding plate 11 which holds a material 5 is coupled, via a joint 10, to the tip of the rod 9 of an air cylinder 8. A stopper 16 provided at one end of a sliding plate 15 contacts with a sliding groove 18 and conveys the material 5 in a right direction in the normal time. When a certain fault arises in the conveyance of the material 5 in this state, the plate 11 fails to move even if a moving element 2 moves. Therefore the rod 9 of an air cylinder 8 is pushed by the fault force and retracts from the ejection position. If a fault detector 17 is provided beforehand to the element 2, the gap S between the detection surface of the detector 17 and the stopper 16 increases. If the change in the gap S is detected, the generation of the fault in conveyance is detected. |
