<p>The machine includes a rotating structure with a series of needles hanging down so that each may hold a film disc on its end. The needles are situated above a correspondingly spaced set of containers holding film developing solutions. A mechanism is provided for lifting and lowering the set of needles and rotating them by the space between an adjacent pair to move discs onto the next bath. - A hook (27) is arranged in the path of the film discs to remove discs once they have been immersed in each of the required baths. The discs are held on by friction, and the whole assembly moves according to a timed program. The whole assembly is indexed through a predetermined angle in the raised positions. Each time the spindles are lowered the lower end of the spindle passes through the hole in the hub of a film disc to engage if frictionally. Beneath the path of the spindles several processing solution containers are arranged including at least one for drying. - A disc picked up on the end of a spindle is introduced into each solution in turn and retained in it for a set period. The spindles are rotated about their axes by a common drive to enhance contact between the emulsion and the processing solutions.
