Radiation coating compsn. comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of an acid hydrolysis prod. of an alkoxy-functional silane R a1O-Si(OR2)4-a in which R1 and R2 are each monovalent hydrocarbon gps. and a=0-3, (B)10-1000 pts.wt. of an acid hydrolysis prod. fo a cpd. chosen from (i) acryloxy-functional silanes (R3cO) b- R C4-Si (R5-O-CO-C(R6) = CH2)d in which R3 and R4 (same or different) are monovalent hydrocarbon groups, R5 is a divalent hydrocarbon gp.,b=1-3, c=0-2 and d=4-b-c, or (ii) a glycidoxy-functional silane of formula (I) in which R7 and R8 (same or different) are monovalent hydrocarbon gps., R9 is 2-8C divalent hydrocarbon gp., e=1-3, f=0-2 and g=4-e-f, or mixts. of these and (C) a catalytic amt. of a cationic photoinitiator.
