The invention relates to the placing of labels. The labels 14 are sent one by one on to a conveyor belt 3. A liquid film ensures the adhesion of the label 14 to this conveyor belt 3. The label detaches itself by the distortion of the belt 3 on passing over the bending roller 6 at a point located in the proximity of the object 13 on which the label 14 is placed.
