The present invention relates to a method and device for sorting tree bark. Since the bark 3 is mixed with foreign bodies 5 of greater density, the mixture is moved at a certain speed and a gaseous stream is directed obliquely upwards at it so that the bark 3 is entrained over a greater distance than the foreign bodies 5, thereby facilitating the separation of the latter.
