PURPOSE:To obtain a speed controller excellent in its response characteristic and capable of easily setting its speed, by using a servo motor so as to set the control center of a centrifugal governor. CONSTITUTION:A servo motor 3 is provided in a centrifugal governor of a vehicle engine, and a lever 41 of a potentiometer 40 is engaged to a lever 32 provided in an output shaft 31 of the motor. A rod 33 is provided on the lever 32, and a spring 5 is tensely bridged between an idle lever 4 and a governor lever 61 pivotally supported to fixed parts. A rod 62 opening and closing a throttle valve 7 is provided in the other end of the lever 61. At positioning of the control center of the governor, if a speed is set by a speed setter switch 1, the motor 3 is forwardly and reversely turned by a servo circuit 2 in accordance with a deviation between outputs of the switch 1 and the potentiometer 40, and the output shaft 31, being set to a position of the set speed, sets the governor lever 61 to a stable position through the spring 5. |
