The present invention relates to a method of adjusting the signal level in a charge-transfer photosensitive device and device for implementation thereof. According to the method, for each cycle T of integration of the charges induced by the electromagnetic signal, the total amplitude of the signal received during the integration T1 is calculated, the said amplitude is compared with a threshold value, the charge storage time T12 is modulated so as to integrate the charges only during a fraction of the integration cycle dependent on the result of the comparison and the charges induced during the remaining time T11 are cancelled out.
