Stable and inert absorbent product. Product obtained by mechanically reducing waste products of wood and of ligno-cellulose matter into individual elements of small dimensions, by passing them through the flame of a burner and by spontaneous combustion, by a subsequent mechanical treatment in a hammer crusher, by chemical treatment during which they are made to react successively with potassium silicate and a calcium salt of a strong acid. This invention is relevant to producers of building materials.
