In order to mould a virtually-cylindrical bucket which includes a neck adjacent to the opening and projecting inwards, the device comprises a base, a tapered inner core (24) on the base and carrying slideways (35), and a plurality of outer core elements (30, 32) consisting of alternating segments of inverted (reversed) shape which are mounted so as to slide on the slideways (35); this allows a to-and-fro movement along the axis of the tapered inner core. The outer core elements (30, 32) together define a surface which forms the inner surface of the bucket with its projecting neck. Ejection means move the outer core elements (30, 32) in order to narrow down or to widen out the cylindrical outer surface of the core in order to enable the finished bucket to be removed. The segments (16) for moulding the projecting neck can slide inwards and outwards in order, respectively, to mould and release the bucket. <IMAGE>
