A nut (1, 2) with an internal thread (6) is divided in the axial direction into at least two parts (1, 2), and a screw can be mounted in an enveloped manner such that the parts are locked with respect to one another when the nut is tightened. The first part (1) consists essentially of, for example, a hexagonal nut and has a central hole (3), provided with an internal thread (6), and an axially extending, radial groove (4) which extends between the outer outline surface (5) and the hole (3) so that there is only one section (7) of the internal thread (6) which preferably in each case represents a half turn. A screw can be inserted through the groove (4) until its thread comes to rest on the internal threaded section (7). The second nut part (2) can be inserted axially into the groove (4) in order to fill that groove part which is not filled by the screw. The second part (2) is connected, by means of a section (8) having a semicircular cross-section, to the external diameter of an inserted screw. The groove (4) is designed such that the second part (2) is locked with respect to radial movement. <IMAGE>
