In the single-stage version (Fig. 1), the magnetic transmission consists of a stationary magnetic disc (1) and a magnetic disc (2) which is arranged centrally and axially such that it can rotate. A semicircular segmented disc (3) rotates between the magnetic discs. The power flux from the driving shaft to the driven shaft passes via the magnetic radial forces, which are not interrupted by the segmented disc, of the mutually opposite magnetic discs. The transmission has absolutely no slip and is determined by the pitch of the magnets, or by the number of magnets on the circumference of the magnetic discs. The torques on the two shafts are related in inverse proportion to the transmission ratio. The driving and driven shafts may run in the same direction or in the opposite direction. Rotation in the same direction or in the opposite direction is also determined by specific different magnet pitches on the magnetic discs. The magnetic transmission permits a high transmission level and can also be designed in a multi-stage manner, in an integrated construction. Despite the fixed transmission ratios of the magnetic transmissions the individual magnetic discs can be twisted with respect to one another in stages corresponding to their magnet pitches, for the purpose of setting. <IMAGE>
