A firing installation for the combustion of solid fuels such as e.g. pieces of wood, wood chips, peat, briquettes, is built from chimney casing blocks 2 and the furnace lining consists of heat-resistant concrete 4. The cover plate 1 and the base plate 11 are likewise made of concrete. As support for material to be fired, a concrete plate 7 is arranged, which is provided with bores 8 + 9 for postcombustion of flue gases and as a passage opening for ash arising.
