Sealing bush for sealing the gaps between an shaft (2) and the frame (1) surrounding the shaft, which sealing bush (4) has a seal housing (5), a first, annular seal (6) which is arranged in the seal housing and presses against the seal housing and against the shaft, a pressure sleeve (7) which clamps the seal in the seal housing, and fastening means for supporting the seal housing against the frame. The seal housing forms a part which is separate from the frame and is located with a radial clearance in relation to the frame. The clamping means (12, 13) connect the seal housing resiliently to the frame, allowing the seal housing and the seal to float radially with the shaft while being incapable of rotation in relation to the frame. Installed between the seal housing and the frame is a second annular, radially resilient seal (15) which presses against the seal housing and against the frame and is intended to seal the said clearance despite axial oscillation of the shaft. The seal (6) is preferably a graphite packing ring. <IMAGE>
