A method of treating a polyphenolic extract such as to form a polyphenolic product of material for use as for example, a bonding agent, glue or adhesive includes mixing polyphenolic extract with one or more polybasic acids and heating the mixture for a predetermined period of time. A preferred polyphenolic extract is bark extract. The invention also provides a polyphenolic product such as a bonding agent, which includes a mixture of polyphenolic extract such as bark extract and one or more polybasic acids, which have been reacted together in the presence of heat for a predetermined period of time. |
