PURPOSE:To provide possibility of using a plurality of sheet casettes with simple operation, by identifying sheet cassettes accommodating different widths of sheet stacks and by shifting the feed roller to the optimum position for the current case in accordance with the result of said identification. CONSTITUTION:A pair of feed rollers 2, 2' movable in the axial direction of drive shaft 4 are provided with arc-shaped parts 2a, 2'a, which come in contact with the sheet stack 3' during rotation, and with chord-shaped parts 2b, 2'b out of contact in the same situation. An endless belt 7 is loaded between a drive pulley 9 mounted on a motor 8 and a driven pulley 9, and sliders 6, 6' slidable along the shaft 5 are installed on the facing surfaces 7a, 7b of said belt. Identification holes 3a, 3b are provided at the front edge of each cassette 3, and micro-switches 10a-10c are installed in the position mating with said holes. These micro-switches shall serve identification of a sheet cassette 3, and the rollers 2, 2' be shifted to their optimum positions for the current case by moving the sliders 6, 6'. |
