PURPOSE:To prevent a recording paper roll from being set in a deviated position and prevent an IDF from wrinkling or sagging with a simple construction by a method wherein after a thermal head is separated from a platen roller, a recording paper paid out from a recording paper payout roll is pressed against the platen roller in the state of being laminated with an IDF by the tension of the latter, thereby, feeding the paper. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid 11 is connected to the upper surface of a thermal head 1, and when being operated, it moves the head 1 upward against the pushing force exerted by a spring 10, thereby separating the head 1 from a platen roller 8. With the platen roller 8 rotated in the direction of an arrow A, an IDF 2 paid out from an IDF payout roll 3 is fed to the side of an IDF take-up roll 7 in the state of being tensioned by a tensioning mechanism provided at the take-up roll 7, whereby a recording paper 4 paid out from a recording paper roll 5 is pressed against the peripheral surface of the platen roller 8, and is fed by a frictional force acting between the IDF 2 and the paper 4. Under such condition, heating elements of the head 1 are operated to generate heat, whereby a solid ink of the IDF 2 corresponding to the heat-generating positions is made to fluidized state, and is transferred onto the paper 4. |
