摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a high degree of cutting accuracy, by providing such an arrangement that an intervening plate is interlaid between abutments at (N-1) times in N time successive feeds to eliminate a possibility of addition of an unnecessary cutting margin corresponding to (N-11) time cuttings or a possibility of addition of a saw blade thickness to a cutting length. CONSTITUTION:A cutter includes a reciprocating material feed bed 4, and a main frame carrying a saw blade. At each of (N-1) time feeds, the end face of a bracket 21 abuts against the end face of a contact element 18 through an intervening plate 26, and therefore, the length of stroke of the (N-1)-th feed becomes shorter than that of the remaining last one feed by the thickness of the plate 26 which corresponds to a saw blade thickness. Accordingly, the total amount of material feed corresponds to the sum of a length to be cut and a cutting margin (t) in one feed, and therefore, a cutting length with a high degree of accuracy may be assured. Such N time successive feeds and (N-1) operations of a saw blade thickness compensating device 23 may be made by automatically issuing instructions from a suitable control device.
